We are pleased to inform that on May 25 Antoni Pieńkos, member of WISI staff, moderated a panel at a conference “Warsaw Review of UN Peacekeeping Operations” hosted by the Warsaw Peace Research Institute, University of Warsaw Institute of International Relations and Association of UN Peacekeeping Mission Veterans. The conference was held in the University of Warsaw Library. The attendees included university fellows, representatives of NGOs, think tanks, and UN peacekeeping missions’ veterans.
The aim of the conference was to review the political, legal, operational and technical challenges to UN peacekeeping operations. The scope of the conference was divided into two debates, the first one dedicated to a review of the organisation of the past missions. The second one, moderated by Antoni Pieńkos, focused on delineating a possible future for peacekeeping operations and broader international actions intended for preserving peace and security throughout the world.
