The Warsaw Institute for Strategic Initiatives Director of Analysis Division in his new analysis for Stratfor raises the subject of development prospects of the recently widely discussed European Defense Action Plan. The author seeks to compare the proposed EDAP’s systemic solutions to previously identified ingrained problems of industrial and defense cooperation in Europe, in particular the activities carried out under the EU Common Security and Defense Policy, presenting in what circumstances the proposed solutions could actually implement new quality and improve European defense capabilities. The Warsaw Institute for Strategic Initiatives Director of Analysis Division in his new analysis for Stratfor raises the subject of the role of European institutions and other international organizations in the development of military-industrial cooperation in European Union. The author elaborates on the connection between the overall economic condition of individual member states and their military expenditure with the scale of military cooperation conducting by EU member states in the recent years. The analysis is specifically interesting while given the context of the current debate on the future shape of the Common Security and Defence Policy. In his most recent article Economic Growth and Demand for Military Expenditure in the Indo-Pacific Asia Region for “Defence and Peace Economics”, Stefan Markowski, an expert at Warsaw Institute for Strategic Studies, analyses the data from Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) in order to determine whether there is a relation between military expenditure and economic growth, particularly in the Indo-Pacific Asia region.
